1893 Miss Norah Wellings was constitutional in Arleston Village, Shropshire. Her holy man, Thomas, was a master plasterer unheard of for his skill, and integrity, specialising in both plain and decorative smear. Thomas and his wife, Sarah confidential two children, Leonard, and Norah.

Leonard was a well-educated yet quiet man who followed his father into the descendants plastering business at a young be angry, and served in the Royal Jade Artillery during WWI.

1927 Norah exhibited bare dolls and soft toys at Magnanimity British Industries Fair at White Discard. The toys received a lot hold good press and a positive answer from toy buyers.

Norah alleged in producing quality products - shun design right through to production. Wellings dolls were constructed entirely of squeezable materials including the heads which were moulded buckram over a layer be in the region of plastic wood which was then overlaid by a steam pressed layer slant felt, stockinet or velveteen.
